The bathrooms have been fully renovated, and both have 10-inch rain showers, towel heaters, ceramic sinks and toilets, and Philippe Starck lighting.   The first is en-suite, and it features colorful blue tiles, a toilet, and a sizable tub that is perfect for bathing babies.  A glass panel has been added since these photos were taken.

The décor is an eclectic mix of the classics and the contemporary, featuring Danish furniture, French lighting, Moroccan tiles and rugs, and art from Mexico, California, and Paris, including work from Sister Corita, Richard Diebenkorn, Alexander Calder, and Mark Ribaud.

The apartment surprises and delights from the moment you cross the threshold.  The entrée features a Schumacher wallpaper with drawings of scenes of Paris, which then extends past original glass double doors to the Salon and the kitchen, both of which are bright, spacious, and painted in a warm blue tones.

Housed in a 18th century building overlooking rue du Louvre, this gorgeous apartment has been fully renovated by its American and French owners.  The apartment delivers the comforts and amenities of the best boutique hotels while offering the sophistication, privacy and charm of an authentic Parisian home.

ABOUT LOUVRE

Along the corridor extending from the kitchen to the bedrooms, there is a full desk with a brand new iMac, a SONOS music system, and a small library stocked with guides to Paris, French literature, classic American novels and short stories, and other good reads.  The flower lighting was found in the flea markets in Paris, and the colorful lithographs are from Sister Corita, a Los Angeles nun who made protest art, also in the 1960s.

The Salon features an original marble fireplace, a Louis Philippe mirror, midcentury Danish furniture, a surprisingly comfortable sofabed in grape, an 18th century commode with a marble top from the ‘Transition’ period, a TV and DVD player, and bespoke closets, in case anyone is using the sofabed.
